A cycle tour through the Spanish province Andalusia

Landed on time at 12:25 at Granada Airport. Claimed bike and baggage which were not damaged. After refitting the pedals, adjusting the handlebars, pumping the tires and stowing away the baggage I headed towards town. Suddenly I was surrounded by plainclothes ground personnel who wanted to know where I was off to. I explained that I’d be starting my trip on Monday – Granada, Guadix, Jaen, Cordoba, Sevilla, Cadiz, Gibraltar, Ronda, Antequera, Granada – and if time allowed I would make an excursion in the Alpujarras.” And all that by bicycle?” was the question. “How old are you then?” “63, I replied” A quiet mumbling in Spanish – and because I didn’t understand what was said, I translated their words for myself to mean “He’s off his rocker”!! 16 km. To town centre where I had booked a room for three days.
