Itzehoe - Plön 80 Km. Thursday, 17. 06 04

The journey leads through villages like Hohenlockstedt, Aukrug und Neumünster. The landscape changes from flat to hilly. My cycle-computer shows 40 km. when we arrive on the market place in Neumünster. There is much activity, we take a seat on a terrace, have lunch and watch children performing tricks they have well-rehearsed.

The youth hostel in Ploen lies near the lake and we have a view of some islands and ships with a wonderful sunset. They call the area around Ploen ?Holsteinische Schweiz?. (Switzerland, because it is hilly they explain).
